Gazprom — RusVelo trainees for the final part of the season

The three young riders will race for the Russian team Gazprom — RusVelo for the remainder of 2019. Anton Popov, Anton Vturin and an Italian rider Marco Landi have joined the team as trainees.

Anton Popov joined the development team of Gazprom — RusVelo in 2018. This season he gained valuable experience in the Italian squad Velo Racing Team Palazzago. Anton Vtiurin came to Gazprom — RusVelo U23 at the beginning of the season 2019 and demonstrated good progress.

Andrey Solomennikov, team's Sport Director said: "Anton Popov joined Gazprom — RusVelo U23 back in 2018 and this year he gained international experience in the Italian team. So, I am certain that it's time to test him at the professional level. We did a plenty of work with Anton Vtiurin this season and he demonstrated impressive performance. Anton has a potential to be a good GC rider, he is a true warrior. Anton never fears inclement weather and steep descents".

Sport Director of Gazprom — RusVelo Michele Devoti on Marco Landi: "Marco has characteristics of a great climber, who is also able to demonstrate powerful finish. I have personally tracked him from 2015 and I see constant progress. At the moment, he is in great shape and is ready to try to compete in the professional races, so we give him this opportunity".

Marco Landi — is the Italian rider who represents the Zalf Euromobil Fior team. This season Marco won two races: Coppa Lanciotto Ballerini and Coppa Varignana and clinched a podium seven times.
