Job Description Clinical Functional Assessor – Registered Nurse Ingeus
About This Role
Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse seeking a dynamic role that offers a unique blend of professional challenge, genuine work-life balance, and the opportunity to make a profound societal impact? Ingeus invites you to join our compassionate and professional team as a Clinical Functional Assessor. This permanent, hybrid position allows you to leverage your extensive clinical expertise in a non-direct patient care setting, focusing on comprehensive assessments rather than hands-on treatment. You will play a crucial role in evaluating how various health conditions and disabilities affect an individual's daily living and functional capabilities, contributing vital insights to support systems.
Ingeus is a leading provider of employment, health, and youth services, committed to transforming lives and strengthening communities. As part of our team, you will contribute to a meaningful mission, applying your nursing experience to help individuals access the support they need. This role is designed for nurses who value a structured environment, continuous professional development, and the flexibility of a hybrid working model. You will spend three days a week in one of our modern Assessment Centres across London or Essex, collaborating with colleagues and conducting in-person assessments, and two days working comfortably from your home office, managing reports and case documentation.
We offer a competitive annual salary of £46,813, complemented by an attractive performance-related bonus scheme, with an on-target earning (OTE) potential of up to 10%. This is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to redefine your nursing career, moving away from traditional shift patterns towards a more predictable and balanced professional life, all while continuing to make a significant difference.

- Perform comprehensive physical examinations (where appropriate and within scope of practice) to gather additional evidence supporting functional limitations.
- Synthesise complex medical information and assessment findings into clear, concise, and accurate reports that adhere to strict quality standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain meticulous case records and ensure all documentation is completed efficiently and accurately within specified timescales.
- Collaborate effectively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff, contributing to a supportive and high-performing assessment environment.
- Adhere strictly to professional codes of conduct, confidentiality principles, and all relevant legislation and company policies.
- Engage in continuous professional development, keeping abreast of changes in medical understanding, assessment protocols, and relevant legislation to ensure best practice.
- Provide empathetic and respectful interactions with all claimants, ensuring a positive and professional assessment experience.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Hold current and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Possess a minimum of two years' post-registration clinical experience in a diverse healthcare setting, demonstrating strong clinical assessment skills.
- Demonstrable ability to apply clinical judgment across a broad spectrum of health conditions and their functional implications.
- Excellent written communication skills for producing detailed, accurate, and evidence-based reports.
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage empathetically with individuals from varied backgrounds.
- Proficiency in IT systems and comfortable with digital platforms for report writing and remote working.
- Ability to reliably commute to one of our Assessment Centres located across London or Essex for three days per week.
- Possess a suitable and dedicated home working environment that meets confidentiality and health & safety standards for two days of remote work.
